大跃进以后,建筑材料供应工作出现了新的情况,砖的需要量急剧增加.但由于砖坯干燥受季节性的影响很大,每年旧例约有三分之一的时间,不能制坯,这乃是当前增产砖的一个关键性问题.为了保证砖的供应,我们根据西安第一砖瓦厂用压瓦机改装压坯机的先进经验,结合南京地区情况,试验干土制砖坯办法,试验过程中,由于领导重视,并取得南京工学院、南京建筑机械制造厂和新宁砖瓦厂等单位的密切配合,手轮压坯机已初步获得成功.所压出的砖坯、断面结构细实,表面光滑,焙烧后,声音清晰,棱角完整,抗压力比机坯更强,质量良好,台时产量达700块左右.
