Although few studies have demonstrated that ovarian steroidogenic enzyme activity correlates with serum steroid hormone concentrations at different stages of a woman’s menstrual cycle, it has not been elucidated to what extent serum steroid hormone concentrations alter reflect the activity of steroid biosynthetic enzymes .
