Twenty-five years ago, on a fortuitous day, a Weifang young man connected his hometown in four cities: Jinan, Beijing and Washington on a map of the world by wire. He did not think that after some years he really had to go along such a route China, and personally participated in up to 13 years of China’s world negotiations. On the evening of May 27, at the third issue of “Choi Choong Dialogue - Famous Chinese and Foreign Famous Series Lectures” held by Shangri-La Hotel, Qingdao, Liu Guangxi attempted to show his interpretation of the significance of incidentalness to a person. By the same token, for a city, the necessity of determining its fate is by chance, not by force. More importantly, when the WTO transition period is over half, the post-WTO era is announced. Liu Gangxi gave us an inventory of what we have done since our accession to the WTO and pointed out new problems and new changes that may emerge in the post-WTO era. Today, with the trade-driven growth of the national economy increasingly reaching the limit, it is time to find a real driving force for sustained economic growth.
