电炉炼钢以废钢为原料,然而废钢的含碳量较低.不能满足炉料熔清所需含碳量的要求.所以,电炉炼钢长期以来都是使用约含碳4%的生铁作为增碳剂,以解决电炉炼钢的配碳问题.由于生铁的短缺和价格的上涨,国内包括天钢在内的许多厂家,都在寻找其它增碳剂.实践表明,采用类石墨作为电炉炼钢的增碳剂,不仅操作工艺简单、钢质稳定、每吨类石墨可代替10t生铁,而且电耗有明显下降,经济效益显著,完全可以取代传统的用生铁增碳的作法.
