北京越剧团从上海分棵移植,在京建团,拥有范瑞娟、傅全香等名演员,除原有名剧如《梁山伯与祝英台》《劈山救母》等久已蜚声全国外,更以《小忽雷》作来京后新剧第一声。《小忽雷》的成功,不仅使首都观众得到进一步的艺术享受,而且也是北京越剧团向前发展,启步迈进时的一个可喜收获。一说到《小忽雷》,就很容易使人想到孔尚任名作《桃花扇》。由于《桃花扇》是清初曲坛压卷之作,相形之下,使《小忽雷》有所逊色。但《小忽雷》之立案、构思,表现了孔氏对封建统治时代的帝王荒淫、貂竪横行、藩镇跋扈的难以抑制的愤慨,并对反抗封建统治阶级压迫的斗争寄予极大同情,实有与《桃花扇》一脉相连之处。孔氏撰《小忽雷》,虽然由于偶得唐代“小忽雷”古乐器,因爱寄兴;但叩弦
