党中央、国务院非常重视农业和农村工作,采取了一系列支持农业生产、保护农民利益的政策措施。农业和农村工作中出现的新情况、新问题受到重视,各地办农业的劲头有所提高。但是,从整体上来看,人们所希望的农业热还没有真正热起来。农业的现状与加快发展国民经济、稳定社会这个大局的要求很不适应。农业和农村中的许多深层次矛盾尚未得到解决,甚至还存在着许多值得重视的险象。
The Central Party Committee and the State Council attach great importance to agriculture and rural work and have adopted a series of policies and measures to support agricultural production and protect the interests of peasants. New situations and new problems appearing in agriculture and rural work have been taken seriously, and the strength of agriculture in various places has been raised. However, on the whole, the agricultural heat that people hope has not really gotten hot yet. The current situation of agriculture and the requirement of accelerating the development of the national economy and stabilizing the society are very inadequate. Many deep-seated conflicts in agriculture and rural areas have yet to be resolved. There are even many dangers worth noting.
