通过生物培养试验发现,长江口海区春夏季的三角褐指藻、双突角毛藻、钙质角毛藻和异胶藻等浮游植物,在N:P=8—30的海水培养液中其生长同时受到N和P的限制;大于此比值范围,浮游植物生长受P限制;小于此比值范围受N限制长江口海区水体N:P一般高出Redfield比值1倍以上,利用高N:P比值的长江口水样进行生物试验,结果表明浮游植物生长明显受P限制所试验浮游植物都显出对P优先吸收,而其水体最佳适宜生物生长的N:P为18。
