In April 2004, “Chinese Language Learning Newspaper” published a paper entitled “Achievement of Chinese Teaching Contents and Objectives” co-authored by Zhong Qiquan and Wang Rongsheng. The choice of classical Chinese teaching content around “what to teach” has seriously haunted the teaching of classical Chinese in senior high school because of the phenomenon of “substituting words and expressions”, “speaking and substituting”, and “determining everything with college entrance examination”.
