堆石坝的筑坝材料粗粒料通常占半数以上,准确地掌握粗粒的抗剪强度及动力变形等基本特性,对确定堆石坝经济合理的设计和施工方法至为重要,为此期望能得到接近原位状态的应力应变值。这样的原位静力和动力应力应变状态,只能在各种扭转纯剪试验和重复加荷扭转纯剪试验时出现,面在试验中伴随着侧向变形而产生的平面应变则无法完全再现。由于扭转纯剪试验的试件制作困难,而且以粗粒料为对象的试验多为大型试验,这样的试验实例很少。因此对粗粒料的抗剪强度,主要是用构造简单、得出的结果比较稳定的三轴压缩试
