国际通信卫星Ⅲ号答的飞行器是为了工作在同步高度而设计的,它处于地球赤道上空的某几个固定点,其主天线则指向地球的中心。四个地面控制站的任一站根据通信卫星计算中心所发出的指示,而发出指令,来控制飞行器的位置、高度以及控制飞行器其它的动作。这些控制站还向该中心馈送有关飞行器的遥测和跟踪数据,因此,该中心成为地面控制网的分析并做出决定的中枢。
The spacecraft of International Telecommunications Satellite No. Ⅲ is designed to work at synchronous altitude. It is located at a few fixed points above the equator of the earth, while its main antenna points to the center of the earth. Any one of the four ground control stations issues commands to control the position and altitude of the aircraft and to control other aircraft movements, based on instructions from the Communications Satellite Computing Center. The control stations also fed the center with telemetry and tracking data on the aircraft, and as a result, the center became a hub for the analysis and decision-making of the ground control network.
