At the CCPIT press conference held on November 9, Wang Jinzhen said that the Expo Milano, which is themed of "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life", has attracted a total number of 21.5 million visitors. It is the first time for China to attend a world expo with a self-built pavilion. The three pavilions take a space of 6,690 sq.m., making China the largest country in terms of exhibition scale.
  Build trade platform
During the Expo Milano, China Pavilion worked with Chinese provincial governments and Italian institutions and regions to host 15 events associated with trade and business, attracting more than l,000 Chinese companies and 500 Italian enterprises. About 200 preliminary agreements have been reached, playing an important role in helping Chinese agricultural and food companies expand international market and supporting regional export-oriented economy.
According to Wang Jinzhen, the year 2015 witnessed the 45th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy. To better implement the "Three-year Plan on the Promotion of Cooperation between China and Italy" sign agreed byleaders of two countries, China Pavilion organized a dozen themed events to promote "the Belt and Road" strategy, which played an active role in promoting Chinese companies to go overseas and supporting export-oriented economy of the regions.
According to Expo Milano organizing committee, during the expo the number of business negotiations between China and Italy has accounted for 40% of all trad-related talks. Italy has given high praise of these trade and economic achievements. Vice Chairman of Lombardy Province Fabrizio Zara said that thanks to the expo, during the first seven months of 2015, Italy agricultural and food export have risen by 7% from year-on-year basis, and export to China rose by 32.7%. Interpret sustainable development concept
Data shows that in the past 6 months, China Pavilion has received 3.05 million audiences from both China and foreign countries, 1,539 delegate groups from 68 countries. It has held events like National Pavilion Day, 20 Provincial Activity Day, 10 enterprise activity days, and more than l,500 trade, tourism and art activities, making China Pavilion the most attractive venue at Expo Milano.
China Pavilion takes a space of 4,590 sq.m, and captures the theme of "land of hope, food for life". It features the design pattern of "sky, earth, people and harmony", to exemplify Chinese ancient agricultural civilization and modern agricultural technology through key exhibitions and themed films. The pavilion widely uses new technology and material, to interpret the concept of sustainable development and nature of "China Dream". China Pavilion has stood out among 26 pavilions for its "wheat wave" and Beijing park sceneries, and won the most important prize of the expo, the bronze medal award for expo self-built pavilion scenery. Also thanks to recyclable environmental building design and sustainable development concept, China pavilion won golden award of recyclable pavilions organized by Italian media groups and was rated second in terms of popularity of presented pavilions at the expo.
It is said that as Chinese governing institution for global exhibition bureau and world expo affairs, the CCPIT will be activelyinvolved into the preparation for 2017 Astana Expo, 2019 Beijing World Horticultural Expo and 2020 Dubai Expo.
