随着市场机制在经济领域中的作用日益加大,国有书店如何适应社会主义市场经济的要求,进一步深化图书发行改革,转换经营机制,强化和巩固主渠道的地位,提高图书发行生产力,这是图书发行工作者普遍关心的重要课题。南通市新华书店和南通图书发行研究会,着眼这一课题的研究,发动市、县发行工作者,围绕深化改革,搞活发行,振兴主渠道,开拓图书市场这一主题,积极开展群众性的发行理论研究活动,至今已持续五年。自1989年起,连续举行了五届图书发行理论研讨会,先后征集理论文章225篇,在出版发行各个层次的学术交流研讨活动中入选的论文共88篇,被赞誉为发行科研论文多产大户。
