During the period of Hongzhi and Masanori in Ming Dynasty, the economic foundation of dying feudal autocracy and newborn caused two major characteristics of culture in the middle and late Ming Dynasty: twilight and newborn. By the end of the Ming Dynasty, the advent of “Jin Ping Mei”, a representative work of citizen culture, portrayed the development of traditional novels from the characterization of “extraordinary sanctuary” to the vivid well-to-do people, highlighting their personalization and reflecting the torture of humanity in the transition period. The artistic achievement of “Jin Ping Mei” lies in that it truly reflects the “love” between people in the time of abstinence.
