日本从1970年起,经不断试验改进,开发出一种被认为较为理想的轴与轮的连接装置——ETP-T油压摩擦连接结构形式。该结构主体由凸缘法兰盘和套筒组成。凸缘法兰盘内设有加压机构(压力螺钉),其压力媒体密封装于套筒和凸缘法兰盘内。由于压力媒体受压力螺钉旋入的加压,而被移送至套筒内,套筒内部受到压力而使套筒与轴相接合的一侧产生收缩,而套筒与轮相接合的一侧产生扩张,这样使得轴与轮通过套筒而联接起来,如图所示。
