莎士比亚在《李尔王》及《哈姆莱特》中都以主角的疯癫表达对文艺复兴运动后上帝被移出神坛,信仰缺失下人性之恶逐渐显露的担忧。文艺复兴对人性的解放并没有把人引向理性,把社会导向有序。相反,物欲横流和人心叵测成为了社会常态。疯癫虽为非理性之表征,却在更深层次上曲折地表达着理性的诉求。莎士比亚试图借疯癫来透露人世之真相,揭示真善美作为一种内在约束力对人抵达自由理性之境的关键作用。
Shakespeare expressed the insane character of King Lear and Hamlet in the wake of the revelation that God was removed from the altar after the Renaissance. Renaissance liberation of human nature did not lead people to rational, socially oriented. On the contrary, materialistic and people’s aspirations have become social norms. Although crazy insanity is characterized by irrationality, but in a deeper level twists and turns to express the demands of reason. Shakespeare tried to reveal the truth of the world by insaneness and revealed the essential role of truth, goodness and beauty as a form of inherent restraint on the arrival of man in a state of freedom and reason.
