Towards the end of the period, in order to earn some extra money, American teenagers are going to work in ice cream shops or go to shopping malls. However, the job market is still weak. Young people want to find jobs in the summer and face fierce competition. Although the economic downturn has greatly affected young job seekers, the continuing impact of the 2007 Great Recession was but one of the reasons.
