通过中国黄土高原最近0.6Ma夏季风增强以及35~25kaBP和4~2.5kaBP时段东亚夏季风增强的记录与澳洲干旱化或沙漠化增强记录的对比,提出导致澳洲沙漠化的澳洲高压增强,通过穿越赤道的气流有可能在过去增强东亚夏季风的论点;在全新世气候适宜期东亚与澳洲气候记录所表明的同步变化,可能反映了与蒙古高压系统有关的东亚冬季风环流穿越赤道对澳洲夏季风环流增强的影响。南、北半球季风气候通过穿越赤道的气流相互作用可能自0.6MaBP开始表现明显。
