Baosteel is an iron and steel company with advanced technology imported from Japan at the end of the 1970s. The energy consumption of the first-stage converter steelmaking process is 6kg standard coal / t ingot, but the world advanced level is now negative. Baosteel to catch up with the advanced world level, through the analysis of production in 1988, launched a “series of negative energy steelmaking research”, mainly in reducing the secondary dust removal power converter and increase the amount of converter gas recovery effort, the result of 1989 Annual energy consumption of converter steelmaking process achieved -1.05 kg standard coal / t steel level. Introduced in 1989 to consider the negative energy steelmaking, the main work carried out and the economic benefits achieved.
