本文通过收集1981—2011年刊登在国内外的外语类核心期刊(包括一本ESP专业领域的中文期刊)上的有关ESP研究的1509篇期刊文章,从共时和历时的角度出发,比较国内外ESP研究的异同。研究发现,在1981—2011年间,中外ESP研究主要在其研究方法、语料库研究、体裁分析、教学法研究以及学科研究等五大方面展开。较国内而言,国外ESP研究方法更注重实证研究,所建立的专门用途语料库更专业、全面。另外,国外体裁分析较多围绕学术英语,而国内则更多关注职业英语的研究。在教学研究方面,国外起步较早,国内ESP自起步后一直注重教学研究。在学科研究上,国外重视人文和自然学科的ESP研究,而国内主要集中在人文学科的ESP研究上。本研究试图借鉴国外研究的发展优势,为我国ESP研究提供参考建议。
This article collects 1509 journal articles on ESP studies published in the core journals of foreign languages both in China and abroad (including a Chinese journal in ESP field of expertise) from 1981 to 2011. From the synchronic and diachronic perspectives, Similarities and differences between ESP research. The study found that between 1981 and 2011, ESP research in China and abroad mainly in its research methods, corpus research, genre analysis, pedagogy research and disciplinary research in five major areas. Compared with the domestic situation, the foreign ESP research methods pay more attention to the empirical research. The established specialized corpus is more professional and comprehensive. In addition, the analysis of foreign genres more centered on academic English, while the domestic are more concerned about the study of occupational English. In teaching and research, foreign countries started earlier, domestic ESP has been focusing on teaching and research since its inception. In the discipline research, foreign emphasis on humanities and natural sciences ESP research, while the domestic focus on humanities ESP research. This study attempts to learn from the advantages of foreign research, provide reference for the ESP study in our country.
