In order to evaluate the bond behavior between steel bars and concrete under transverse and alternating loads, pullout tests were performed on tensile loads and on the widths of different fractures along the direction of the bars being pulled out. One million cycles of two different load levels and two crack widths were tested. In this paper, the experimental results are discussed in detail. By comparing different loading conditions, it can be seen that the slip between rebar and concrete increases, depending on the number of loading cycles. The experimental results show that the longitudinal cracks have a great influence on the bond properties under cyclic loading. The longer the width of the longitudinal cracks due to the transverse tension, the greater the slip occurs and the earlier the bond failure occurs.
