元杂剧中确实存在如王国维指出的“关目之拙劣”的问题,一味批评或护短都不是实事求是的态度,关键是找到一个合理解释它的角度。中国戏曲以“曲”为本位的观念决定了欣赏戏曲时的重“情”性,而不是传统叙事文学的以故事情节为主导。观赏者更多从“情感”的层面去接受戏曲,导致元杂剧叙述带有强烈的诗性特征,而“关目”、场景等戏曲要素只是抒情的手段,人们不会特别留意,丰富真切的情思意绪才是关注的重点。
