OBJECTIVE: To understand the consumption of traditional Chinese medicine among adult residents in China and analyze the influencing factors of consumption of traditional Chinese medicine (consumption / consumption) by residents. Methods: The multi-stage stratified random sampling was used to investigate the consumption of traditional Chinese medicine in the past 6 months in 11 provinces and cities nationwide by means of questionnaire. Results: A total of 20,917 valid questionnaires were collected. Among the surveyed adults, the average consumption rate of Chinese medicine in the past 6 months was 21.26%. Among them, the female consumption rate was significantly higher than that of men (23.61%) than that of men (18.38%). The rural area (21.69%) was slightly higher than the city (20.89%), but the difference was not statistically significant. The highest rate of resident consumption in Guangdong was 43.32%. There was a significant difference in the consumption rate of traditional Chinese medicine among different age groups. With the increase of age, the consumption rate of traditional Chinese medicine showed an increasing trend (P <0.001). Among different occupations, the retired population has the highest consumption rate of 30.42%. The annual per capita income is related to the consumption of traditional Chinese medicine. However, the educational level has no significant effect on the consumption of traditional Chinese medicine by residents. Multivariate analysis showed that gender, urban and rural areas, occupations and living provinces were related to the consumption of Chinese medicine. Conclusion: Among the adult residents in our country, the consumption rate of Chinese medicine is higher.
