Synthetic corticosteroids affect the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis of women in the normal menstrual cycle in a variety of ways. Previous studies have shown that triamcinolone ac-etonide has anti-ovulation activity in baboons and humans. The authors attempted to elucidate the mechanism of anti-ovulation in humans by flubrooxypyranyl pyruvate (hereinafter abbreviated as TA). Sixteen healthy women aged 20-32 years with normal menstrual cycle were enrolled as subjects. At least 4 months before the experiment to stop taking oral contraceptives.
