英汉两种语言中都存在“时间是空间”这一概念隐喻。以往相关方面的研究主要针对英语、汉语使用者对同一概念隐喻的不同映射方式。本文旨在关注“时间是空间”这一概念隐喻本身在英语与汉语中表达形式的异同以及由此反映的两种文化的思维差异。通过对比英汉两种语言可以发现,英文中广泛存在“时间的流逝是空间中的运动”的隐喻表达,而汉语中还有静态的表现形式“时间的落差是空间的距离”;同时汉语中还存在“空间是时间”的概念隐喻。 There is a conceptual metaphor for “time is space” in both English and Chinese. In the past, the related researches mainly aimed at the different mapping ways of English and Chinese users to the same conceptual metaphor. This article aims to focus on the similarities and differences between the conceptual metaphors of “time is space” in English and Chinese as well as the differences in thinking between the two cultures. By comparing English and Chinese, we can see that there is a wide range of metaphorical expressions in English that “the passage of time is movement in space” and that there is still static expression in Chinese “the gap in time is the distance in space”; There is also a conceptual metaphor of “space is time” in Chinese.
