This article intends to take the Tianjin women’s studies in the late Qing dynasty and early Republic of China as the starting point and examine how modern female teachers and students make use of female learning to realize their movement and transformation in terms of geography, space and identity through the perspective of wandering experience. First of all, the development of female school has triggered a trans-regional and trans-city flow of a large number of knowledgeable women. Second, as far as female school-teachers are concerned, their immediate relevance is not so much a glorious discussion on the preservation of the power of the nation as it is on the daily experience and living experience of the basic necessities of life in the city. By imaginative migration of photography and imagery, they will both strengthen their new identity and become urbanized recipients. Third, the family-centered identity of women, wives and mothers, originally established through blood and marriage, at this time must be carefully transitioned to social identities such as female instruction, female students and female nationals. The two identities are old and new. They expand their range in the city while maintaining their traditional gender norms, thus maintaining a dynamic balance between norms and deviations.
