On March 25, 2012, with the formal approval of the State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission issued the “Revitalization Plan for the Old Revolutionary Base of Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia”. The plan actively supports the development of the old revolutionary base areas in Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia from the national strategic level. As an important old revolutionary base area, Jiangxi is the seat of the former Central Soviet Area.
