我于1924年生在辽宁丹东(以前也叫安东)。父亲王占魁,祖籍河北,是个京剧演员,早年随戏班去了丹东定居。丹东位于鸭绿江畔,隔江就是朝鲜,是个繁荣的贸易商埠,生意人来往川流不息。记得当时丹东有好几个戏班经常演出,我们的戏班在安成舞台,规模最大,经常从关内约角儿来演出。班子的演员与教师大多来自关内,还有来自富连成的。我们那儿还出了不少人才,很多后来在京剧界成了名角儿。我7岁时跟父亲去戏班学戏,先学练功打把子。11岁那年,因背上长了个疖子,没法儿翻跟斗练功,就停了下来。没事儿在班子里闲游荡,一个偶然
I was born in 1924 in Dandong, Liaoning (formerly Anton). Wang Zhankui father, native of Hebei, is a Beijing opera actor, early Dandong settlements with the troupe. Dandong is located in the Yalu River, across the river is North Korea, is a prosperous trade port, business people coming and going. I remember when there were quite a few troupes in Dandong performing regularly, our troupe was on stage in Anshun, the largest and often performed from Kwan Toei. Most of the actors and teachers in the team come from Kwan Im, but also from Fumin. We also had a lot of talent there, a lot later became a famous actor in the Beijing Opera.
