欧洲当代历史教学的主旨受到当代欧洲经济、政治与文化影响,比较世界其他地区的历史教学更突出体现欧洲“一体化”融合的诉求。这既是欧洲现实的产物,也是欧洲长期以来理想的追求。欧洲近代以来的两种批判性倾向也加强了欧洲历史教学中的发展性与多元性,即经历了文艺复兴以来的多次反封建运动,人们认识到,风俗、信仰、社会形态都不是凝固不变的,而是一个历时性的动态过程;同时因由海外探险,欧洲人发现不同地域的社会制度、风俗习惯、语言文字大相径庭,人类文化呈现纷繁斑驳的共时性多样化面貌,这都使得欧洲的历史
The teaching of contemporary history in Europe is influenced by the contemporary European economic, political and cultural influences.
