由于不同的语言系统,加上社会、文化等方面的不同,英汉互译中可能出现无法一一对应的情况。那么在翻译实践中,译者不仅熟练掌握两种语言、文化等背景,更要懂得语言结构和层级之间的相互转换。该文以卡特福德的翻译转换理论为指导,逐句分析许渊冲英译的《青玉案·元夕》中翻译转换的实现情况。结果发现由于英汉语言结构和表达习惯的不同,古文英译时转换的情况非常多,这也说明了翻译转换理论在古文英译和翻译评价中具有适用性。
Due to different linguistic systems and social and cultural differences, there may be situations where there is no correspondence between English and Chinese. Then in the practice of translating, the translator not only proficiently mastered the background of the two languages and cultures, but also understand the transformation between language structure and level. Under the guidance of Catford ’s theory of translation and translation, the article analyzes the realization of translation and translation in “Qing Yu and Yuan Xi” translated by Xu Yuanchong. As a result, it is found that there are many conversions in classical Chinese because of the different language structures and expressions of English and Chinese. This also shows that translation-based translation theory is applicable to classical Chinese translation and translation evaluation.
