代谢型谷氨酸受体第 5亚型 (m G1u R5 )高表达区域是纹状体、海马及大脑皮质。它是与 G蛋白耦联的受体 ,通过 1、4、5 -三磷酸肌醇 (IP3)和 Ga2 +作为第二信使系统发挥生物学效应。它与中枢神经系统发育的可塑性有关 ;可加强大脑皮质 -氨基丁酸 (GABA)能神经元的抑制性突触传递。在纹状体内 ,它可加强NMDA受体的神经毒性作用 ,并与底丘脑核及多巴胺 (DA)系统发生联系 ,可能参与调节基底节的运动 ,并可能与帕金森病 (PD)动物模型中锥体外系症状的产生有关。在海马内 ,m G1u R5可形成长时程增强效应 (L TP) ,与学习和记忆有关
Metabotropic glutamate receptor subtype 5 (m G1u R5) high expression of the striatum, hippocampus and cerebral cortex.
