The meeting reported that the loss of food prior to distribution was the main factor contributing to the hunger in the world. In developing countries in particular, refrigeration is highly regarded. Transport systems can not transport food from its place of origin to a designated place in time. It also needs cheap storage facilities to accommodate a large amount of raw grains and processed products. As more than 80% of cereals are stored at the place of production, effective methods of storage are particularly important in the country. Although ground food storage is very much valued in Australia, Argentina, Kenya and China, it is not yet an important storage technology in the world. Historically, storage of grain in temperate fields has been an important measure to prevent insects from infecting grain. However, the disadvantage is that the grain is getting wet.
