The recent quarrel over the foreign trade between the United Kingdom and the United States shows the unprecedented intensification of the crisis in Britain’s foreign trade and the intensification of competition among the imperialist countries in the capitalist world market. Britain is one of the most economically dependent countries for foreign trade. In recent years, the output of the United Kingdom’s annual output of goods to account for more than 40% of the national GDP. From this we can see the importance of export trade to the British economy. However, after the war, Britain had not only reluctantly opened the door of the empire to the United States but also had to refuse to trade with the Soviet Union, New China and other people’s democratic countries under the pressure of the United States. On the other hand, But was forced to pursue the policy of arms expansion and war preparations that its own economy absolutely can not support. As a result, its crisis of foreign trade is worsening. It is economically dependent on the United States increasingly and its balance of payments deficit has been further exacerbated.
