文化是民族的灵魂,是维系国家统一、促进社会和谐的精神动力和思想基础。人民群众在物质生活迅速改善的同时,对精神文化的需求,特别是对良好的社会秩序、人际关系等提出了更高的要求,希望社会更加和谐,更加美好。十六届六中全会提出建设和谐文化,巩固社会和谐的思想道德基础,是大势所趋,人心所向。
Culture is the soul of the nation and the spiritual and ideological basis for maintaining national unity and promoting social harmony. While the material life is rapidly improving, the people and the masses have put forward higher requirements on the spiritual and cultural needs, especially on the good social order and interpersonal relations. They hope that the society will be more harmonious and better. The Sixth Plenary Session of the 16th CPC Central Committee put forward the ideological and moral foundation for building a harmonious culture and consolidating social harmony. It is the trend of the times and the direction of the people.
