近年来,北京在改造平安大街时,在大街的胡同里改造了一批新四合院。 新四合院摒弃了旧时代几进出的繁琐格局,内部设施有了很大改变,厨房卫生间进行了初装修,能安空调、用抽水马桶,院落内还处处体现了现代户型设计的主题思想,但院落房屋的结构、外观和空间围合形式没有变。改造之初,火红了一阵,不久归于沉寂,受到人们的冷落。
