1991年1月3日,中日联合登山队一行17人在梅里雪山三号营地失踪,经多方查找皆无音信。全国上下对这一事件十分关注,国家体委派出了数个营救组,由于路遥雪大、天气恶劣,无法接近目标区。唯一的办法只有寄希望于航空遥感了。7日下午,中国航空遥感服务公司接到上级指示,派机协助国家体委探查失踪的登山队员,要求尽最大努力,全力以赴尽快完成寻找和救援任务。当晚,登山协会史占春主席亲临公司介绍情况,机组连夜进行准备。第二天飞机就直接飞向了目标区。
On January 3, 1991, 17 people from the joint climbers of China and Japan were missing at the campsite of Meili Snow Mountain No. 3 and there was no news after multi-party search. On the afternoon of the 7th, China Aviation Remote Sensing Service Company received instructions from its superiors to send the aircraft to assist the State Sports Commission to investigate the missing climbers and request them to do their utmost to go all out to find and rescue missions as soon as possible. That night, chairman of Mountaineering Association Shi Zhanchun visited the company to introduce the situation, the unit prepared overnight. The next day the plane flew directly to the target area.
