After years of research and development, criticism and regulatory obstacles, the first anti-browning GM apple will soon be available for sale in the United States. The controversial “Arctic apple” will be in the United States Midwest some grocery store in the form of slice initial pilot sales. Limited supply is the initial test for the controversial Apple. Because of the GMO modification, the apple’s pulp does not turn brown in the air. Critics and backers of genetic engineering both said the domestic controversy over GM crops has been polarized and the apple could be a turning point in the picture.
