In the novel Solar Storms, Native American writer Linda Hogan reshaped noble barbarians with ecologically-savvy Indian images and compared them to harmful, The congenital and exploitative white society has been juxtaposed with each other, thus strengthening the concept of ethnocentrism superior to the tribal culture and ethics. However, in this article, I will point out that the typical typography of Indians shaped by her is more complex, based on an understanding of Indigenous Peoples as well as based on ecological insights. It provides a strategic function: a conscious construction aimed at correcting the sense of inferiority and marginalization Indians have developed from history and transforming them into experiences of dignity and self-strengthening. As an example of the protagonist of this novel, this leads to political action against environmental destruction and cultural degradation. I will also point out Lingda Hogan’s last call for the integration of the two cultures, for example emphasizing the function of writing in Native American and European and American literary contexts.
