Toni Morrison is an Afro-American female novelist who specializes in vivid character dialogues using simple, neat handwriting. In the face of the tragic history that Afro-Asian countries have suffered for centuries, she has a profound sense of ethnicity and wrote many novels on related topics. The publication of Song of Solomon became a turning point in Toni Morrison’s creative career. In this novel, “Blacks Fly” is the context for the development of the novel. By accidentally discovering the source of family and culture, we can reveal how to solve the serious problem of spiritual scarcity in today’s materialistic world. While previous scholars have provided valuable resources for textual analysis, very few scholars have studied the development of black cultural identities. In this regard, I will use the theory of post-colonialism from the cultural differences in the analysis of the representative characters in the text.
