1984年北京市东城区新中街市政工地出土了两件“大明万历年制”款青花缠枝莲托寿字纹盖罐,烧造不甚精致,罐内装有类似炭灰样物,且掺有若干金粒。清宫旧藏中有署“大明嘉靖年制”、“大明万历年制”款器与此二罐器形、纹饰相类。本文结合考古材料和文献记载,推测此二罐可能当年曾被送至宫内以供御用。器物质量略显粗糙,可能与明晚期窑业制度以及国家实力有关。
