This is a great turn in his life. Chen Duxiu, as a science scholar, was neglected in his studies and his colleagues had annoyed words. In the early years of the Republic of China, people in the North were complicated and arts were controlled by the Taiwanese students in Zhejiang. Relatively speaking, Chen Duxiu is very weak in personnel and has a deep grudges against them. It is difficult for him to gain a foothold in Peking University; Chen Duxiu’s exemption of seniors and his departure from Peking University shortly predicted that Peking University’s ambition of enlightenment and academic learning also implied his final choice of pursuit of political ideal.
