新闻报道永远不能纯客观地反映事实。因为客观报道也总是含有采编者的主观性。然而,资产阶级新闻界为了欺骗受众,提出“客观报道,坚持对说过的话或做过的事作纯事实报道”的理论,并煞有介事说什么“应该在新闻报道和意见表达之间划一条清楚的界限,新闻报道应该完全摆脱意见或偏见”,仿佛他们的报道完全没有主观性,是纯客观的。他们这种虚伪的理论在我国却有一定的影响,我国有些新闻学者对此盲目推崇,甚至企图用它来“完善”社会主义新闻理论。这是十分有害的,因此,有必要予以分析和澄清。下面我们从新闻的选材、构思和写作3个环节,来看看客观报道的主观性。
