在文化地理学视野中,大理是厚重的历史文明,也是宽广的地理空间,苍山、老君山、无量山群峦环绕,洱海丰沛的水量保障周边大片农田春种秋收,免除了人们寻找水源的迁徙之苦,安居于富足宁静的农业文明生活;金沙江、澜沧江、红河、怒江呈带状分布流经,南方丝绸之路和茶马古道路纵横交错,催生出亚洲文化十字路口古都的繁荣.相似自然条件中产生的文化有稳定的相似性,苍洱地理空间形成了白族稳态的民族类型与兼容并蓄的文化类型,相伴而生的文学形态,在现代国家语境中,呈现出独具景深的话语空间.
