自1991年中国和以色列两国建立正式外交关系以来,两国的关系逐渐得到发展,也开展了经济和技术方面的合作。作为以色列最大的高技术企业,为开展与中国的业务关系,以色列飞机工业公司(IAI)已两次来华,分别参加了1992年北京航空机载设备及推进技术展览会和1993年北京国际航空展览会。 IAI是一家拥有许多生产厂家和子公司的跨国经营集团。在美国、欧洲、加拿大、智利、阿根廷、远东和澳大利亚等地均有子公司。公司共有雇员17100人,其中大专以上学历的人员占27％,技术人员占17％,高中以上学历的占15％,职业工人占32％,其它占9％。1992年IAI的总销售额达15 7亿美元,出口额占总销售额的78％,为11.87亿美元。IAI三分之二的产品是军品,大部分产品与国防有关。
