民族主义文学和左翼大众文学这两种文艺类型是1930年代国共两党不同的文艺政策的产物,他们分别诉诸文学的民族性和阶级性,但是在具体的文学创作中又不免存在相互涵盖的因素,这与30年代中国特殊的社会和民族危机形势有关,同时也是检验双方各自理论阐释的难题。民族主义文艺诉诸民族主义的背后难掩阶级对立的事实,而左翼文艺坚持阶级的立场,却难免否定了民族情感的正当性。在创作上,双方也共享了新兴文学的某些共同性。
Nationalist literature and left-wing popular literature are the products of the different literary and art policies of the two parties in the 1930s.
