赵紫阳总理在五届人大四次会议的报告中语重心长地提出,“要注意保护学生的身心健康和关心他们学业上的成长”,切实解决学生负担过重的问题。我们感到这个问题提得及时,切中时弊。做到这一点,关键要有正确的办学思想。上学期期中考试后,我们组织力量检查总结了执行《六年制重点中学教学计划试行草案》的情况,发现学生负担过重,全校在不同程度上存在偏重抓智育而忽视体育、德育的现象。针对这些问题,我们发动干部、教师,认真学习六中全会的《决议》上有关党的教育方针的论述,进一步端正办学思想。根据大家讨论的意见,对进一步贯彻执行《六年制重点中学教学计划试行草案》,减轻学生过重负担,提高教育质量,采取了八条措施。我们要求全体干部、教师做到:
In the report of the Fourth Session of the Fifth National People’s Congress, Premier Zhao Ziyang stated in earnest: “We must pay attention to protecting students’ physical and mental health and care about their academic growth,” and effectively solve the problem of overburdened students. We feel that this issue has been promptly addressed and that it has taken a lot of time. To do this, the key is to have the correct idea of running a school. After the mid-term exam of the last semester, we organized strength checks and summed up the implementation of the “Trial Draft for the Six-Year Key Middle School Teaching Plan”. We found that students are overburdened and the school has, in varying degrees, the phenomenon of focusing on intellectual education and neglecting sports and moral education. In response to these problems, we launched cadres and teachers and conscientiously studied the discussion on the party’s education policy in the Resolution of the Sixth Plenum, and further corrected the idea of running schools. According to the opinions discussed by the participants, eight measures were taken to further implement the “Trial Draft for the Six-year Key Middle School Teaching Program” to reduce the burden of overweight students and improve the quality of education.
