唐钢是我国主要基础建设和建筑用钢材生产基地之一,已发展成为矿、铁、轧焦、耐火材料等到工艺配套、结构合理的国有特大型钢铁联合企业,具备年产铁钢各220万吨的综合生产能力。形成了一个融生产、设计、施工、设备制造、科研、地质勘探为一体的跨地区、跨行业、多元化经营的大型企业集团。 唐钢已建成14条国际标准生产线,能生产130多个规格的钢材产品,国际标准产品16种,“双标率”为87.56％,“先标率”为44.92％。其产品在国内、国际市场上拥有良好声誉和信誉,39％的产品实物质量达到国际水平,主要产品均为省优、部优产品,其中二级螺纹钢筋、矿用支护钢、高铝质电炉顶砖为国家级优质产品,以上三种产品和高速盘条被评为中国名牌产品,唐钢的线材、螺纹钢等产品在国内市场上一直供不应求,产品出口十多个国家和地区,并与17个国家和地区建立了经贸技术合作关系。1994年在全国500家最大工业企业中排名第32位。唐钢于1988年获得全国“五一”劳动奖状,1990年晋升为国家一级企业,多次评为全国思想政治工作优秀企业。唐钢将在2000年前后,发展成为具有铁钢各500万吨规模的现代化大型钢铁联合企业。
