Objective To understand the characteristics of food poisoning incidents in Fujian Province from 2004 to 2012. Methods Descriptive epidemiological analysis was conducted on food poisoning reported in Fujian Province in Fujian Province during the public health incident management information system from 2004 to 2012. Results A total of 121 food poisoning cases were reported in Fujian Province from 2004 to 2012, including 77 grade-level incidents and 44 incidents. Food poisoning caused by poisonous mushrooms is the most important lethal factor of animal and plant (58.33%) and the most important cause of all food poisoning (43.75%). Vibrio parahaemolyticus caused by food poisoning is the most important cause of microbial factors (45.94%). Conclusion The food poisoning incidents in Fujian Province from September 2004 to September 2012 are the high incidence seasonal signs. The food poisoning caused by poisonous mushrooms is the most important lethal factor of animal and plant factors and the most important cause of all food poisoning incidents.
