父亲于民国二十四年春远游陕西;翌年又去四川。我未随往,父亲亦未留下游记,仅有一些致亲友的书信及几首诗,但可以勾勒出其游踪,兹分别略述如次。 一、陕西之行 民国二十四年,父亲忙于编校《四部丛刊》三编和《百衲本二十四史》。母亲逝世已有一年,一幢住宅内只住了四人。父亲校史余闲,不免追思母亲。我只能在晚上陪陪他。可恨我对古籍一窍不通,无法插话,父亲说:“父子相对无言”,足见生活之枯燥。 平湖徐眉轩与我岳丈葛词蔚先生既为同乡,又有戚谊,所以过从很密。他知道父亲生活寂寞,便提议作西北之游。眉轩与当时陕西省主席邵力子有旧,由他从中联络,岳丈函约父亲。西安、咸阳古迹中外闻名,向往已久,父亲立即同意,乃约浙江兴业银行董事长叶景葵(揆初)。叶与邵力子系同乡,由叶再约浙兴银行董事陈理卿。我的襟兄刘培余,一向爱好旅游和摄影,得知各位尊长有长安之行,请求陪往。 一行六人于四月二十五日乘津浦路火车到徐州,换乘陇海路车西行,翌晨抵达郑州。时
