Statistics show that Japan has many resources strategy behind the situation in Europe and the United States, but there are also some examples of success. An example is the replacement of rare earths used in motors for hybrid vehicles. A few years ago, more than half of the rare earths required to produce the motor had to be imported from China. However, Japan implemented a joint official-private development of alternative technologies and achieved some success. The import dependence so far has been drastically reduced. At the forum for the next generation of materials held in Tokyo in late March this year, Vice President Murai Shinobu of Nara’s top science and technology university praised: “The United States, Europe and China started to imitate Japan too, indicating that Japan has developed a rare earth substitute Strategic vision. ”
