在高新技术中 ,纳米技术、生物技术和信息技术对化学工业发展有着深远的影响 ,对于材料科学而言 ,当首推纳米技术。它不仅能推动化学反应、催化和许多单元操作的突破性的改进 ,而且提供了纳米多孔材料、纳米粒子、纳米复合材料、纳米传感器等新型材料以及化学机械抛光、药物可控释放、独特的去污作用等功能应用 ,为化工新材料发展及其应用开辟了广阔的前景。为此 ,本刊曾先后刊登一些有关纳米技术及其在材料科学中应用的文章 ,计划继续深入报道有关的发展动向。 2 0 0 3年 11月美国化学工程师学会 (AIChE)会刊《化学工程进展》(CEP)发表了“纳米技术推动化学工业未来发展”等一组文章 ,较全面阐述纳米技术对化学工业发展的影响和意义 ,内容较丰富 ,为此 ,本刊拟通过编译方式分期转载 ,以供有关人士参考
